Christina Aguilera and husband Jordan Bratman have celebrated the birth of their newborn son by inducting him into Judaism with a traditional bris ceremony. The couple, who welcomed little Max Liron Bratman into the world on 12 January, held the Jewish naming and circumcision ceremony on Sunday to formalise the baby’s middle name, which means ‘my song’ or ‘my joy’ in Hebrew.
The bris usually takes place on the eighth day after the birth of the child and is attended by family and friends, who then join the couple for a celebratory meal.
Aguilera was raised as a Catholic, but has been learning about Judaism since her 2005 marriage to music executive Bratman.

I have always loved christina!..It’s actually quite comforting to know that she and here hubby are one of the few celeb couples keeping with tradition when it comes to raising a child! I just had my lil boy 3 months ago and i made the choice to have him circumsized. It was a hard decision but i had to think about his future. I figured he’d be really upset with me if i didn’t. I don’t think it’s wrong. It’s a pain that he will never remember.
John; its interesting that you have a biblical name. Maybe you should conduct some research to find out how the procedure is done in the hospital. I don’t think babies aren’t given anesthetic. This procedure is not mandatory but does help prevent infections that can develop if the foreskin is not pulled back and cleaned properly. If you read the bible, this is a Judaic tradition and she has every right to have the procedure done by the Rabbi who has experience. If the doctors respect her decision, why can’t you? Christina you were blessed with a beautiful voice. You and your husband have been given a gift from God with the birth of Max. He is absolutely precious!!
