Christina ready to hit big screen

Christina Aguilera says she is reading scripts in order to find the right role to launch her acting career. The 26 year old singer is one of few popstars who has yet to convert from the stage to the big screen. Christina claims that she wanted to take some time in order to fully understand the film industry. Perhaps Jessica Simpson and Britney Spears should have done the same. Not to say that Jess and Brit don’t have the ability to act, they were probably just thrown into roles where they could not fully show their acting potential (“Employee of the Month” and “Crossroads” ring a bell?). Regardless of their failures, Christina is determined to make it in the acting industry.

“I am looking forward to moving into another form of what I feel is another creative outlet for me and that would be acting,” the popstar told reporters in Shanghai China where she was performing in concert. “It is something that, when I attempt to do it, I want to do it right so it’s important for me that I do choose the right first role for myself,” she finishes.
