Christina Aguilera scored her first U.K. No. 1 album yesterday (Aug. 20) as “Back to Basics” (RCA) opened at the top of the new sales charts. “Hips Don’t Lie” (Epic) by Shakira featuring Wyclef Jean took its total of weeks at the singles chart summit to five, the last four of which have been consecutive.

Aguilera tops the album chart for the first time after reaching No. 2 on the singles chart three weeks ago with “Ain’t No Other Man.” She peaked at No. 14 on the U.K. chart with her 1999 self-titled debut set and No. 2 with “Stripped” in 2002.
