Christina Aguilera’s upcoming album Bionic has been postponed, according to a statement by RCA Records. The singer’s fourth studio album was originally scheduled for a March 2010 release but has now been pushed back to April.

‘Glam’, the first single from Bionic, is expected to hit radio airwaves in February. Aguilera has worked with collaborators including Goldfrapp, Ladytron and M.I.A on the album, as well as past producers Linda Perry, Tricky Stewart and The Neptunes.

On maturing in showbiz: “In this crazy business, it’s so easy to build up a lot of walls and a lot of bitterness. And it’s just no way to be… “[I can now use softer tones] that maybe I’ve been afraid to do in the past, to allow myself to go to a place of ‘less singing.’ I’m more vulnerable and more strong at the same time.”

On motherhood inspiring her to be lighter in her music. “I had a really hard time being light before. I’d get a little weird about it being too cliché. My first record was very clichéd pop – what everyone else wanted. [My second album Stripped] inspired by a lot of pain. [My third, Back to Basics,] /still had some sort of relation to my past. [My new album] is just about the future – my son in my life, motivating me to want to play and have fun.”

Christina’s new album is called Bionic, due out in March. The first single reportedly is a hip-pop track called “Glam,” produced by Tricky Stewart.

Christina Aguilera, Tom Hanks and Neil Patrick Harris have joined the lineup of presenters at the Golden Globe Awards, according to The New York Times. The trio will join previously announced presenters including Jennifer Aniston, Julia Roberts and Mel Gibson at the ceremony later this month.

Other celebrities who will take to the stage include Sophia Loren, Gerard Butler, Halle Berry and Mickey Rourke. Robert DeNiro and Leonardo DiCaprio will present a special honour to director Martin Scorsese.

Ricky Gervais will host the ceremony, which airs on NBC on January 17.

A very slimmed-down Christina Aguilera celebrated New Year’s Eve in Las Vegas with her pal Nicole Richie. This is the slimmest we have seen Christina in a long time, but it may be due to her forthcoming film Burlesque, in which she plays a burlesque dancer.
